TANGRA was founded in 1989 as the successor of the 1940s company “TANGRA – Lazar Armianov” The main activity of ”TANGRA” back then was the design of HVAC installations.
The founding owners’ successful journey began in a small, leased workshop, where they initially produced ventilation grilles and diffusers. Within a few years, they extended production to cover sound attenuators, ventilation elements and plastic heat exchangers.
TANGRA opened the first trade center for ventilation, heating and air-conditioning in Bulgaria. The company started also developing business and distributors’ network development. The company designed, produced and installed specialized filtration systems for Bulgaria’s largest Nuclear Power Plant, Kozlоduy. The airflow of these systems is several million cubic meters per hour. All design and production was approved by the European certifying agencies for nuclear energy.
TANGRA was invited to renovate the HVAC systems in the country’s Ministerial and Government buildings. Thanks to a very stringent financial policy and constant investment in products and new machines, TANGRA was unaffected by the hyper-inflation and became even stronger.

The world economic crisis affected the construction sector heavily in Bulgaria. TANGRA optimized the team and invested in innovations. The first pellet boilers were produced.
The new technical catalogue with more than 80 different products for ventilation, heating and air-conditioning was presented. A software for the calculation of heat recovery ventilation was designed and uploaded for free use on TANGRA’s website. The company was invited to become a supporter of the European Federation for ventilation, heating and air conditioning.
TANGRA launched a new line of high-efficiency heat recovery units. New export partnerships with companies from Poland and Swizerland were established. The range of pellet boilers was expanded. TANGRA started working on the installations of the first skyscraper in Bulgaria.
